front cover analysis 5

This magazine cover is very colourful and very eye catching. Unlike most other magazines the main photograph featuring the artist is not placed central but is placed slightly bleeding off of the page, this gives more room to place other important articles or pictures. The lead singer of the band is much more visible then the other members of the band as they are peering from behind him. The connotation from the band is excited and relieved, the way they are dressed connotes rock music and guitars, the blank space in the bottom left hand corner was covered with a CD which featured a sample of their music. The headings and colours are very dramatic as they use bright visual colours coupled with bold, capital text  making it an easy magazine to find.

front cover analysis 4

This magazine cover is very cluttered then the other magazine covers I've analysed, there is a lot of small images scattered around the page along with the main image in the centre. The majority of small articles around the page are promotions and competitions, this means there is less information on the magazine itself but may catch the attention of consumers as the articles are very visible. The main image in the centre is an artist with an expression connoting excitement, surprised and shock. The heading of the magazine is being slightly covered by the main image of the artist but is still easily recognised as of the font, colour and letters used.

front cover analysis 3

This magazine cover is very simplistic by using minimal text and only one colour which is very unusual in modern magazine covers. The main focus of this cover is the artist, this photograph covers the majority of the page leaving small areas for text. The image is in black and white giving a slightly old fashioned appearance. The heading is very bold using the colour red which has a high contrast against the black and white back ground. The expression shown on the artists face connotes sophistication and complexity, this is also projected through the way he is dressed showing a business class or exclusive access points.

front cover analysis 2

this front cover is very uncluttered unlike most other magazines, it also has a much more mature appearance with the use of simple text fonts and colours, this could select a different target audience. The main features of the magazine are displayed in a bold format in capital letters, this instantly gives the consumer knowledge of whats inside. The picture of the band connotes maturity, this is because of the way they are dressed along with their stance and facial expressions. The heading of the magazine is of large proportions considering the limited space remaining of the page but they overlayed the image meaning they have made the most of the space but without sacrificing their logo/heading.

front cover analysis 1

The front cover of this magazine is very bold, they use very bold texts and colours giving an eye catching appearance. there is a very simple structural grid layout with text all being left aligned on the page. The main picture on the magazine is an artist, this connotation that she is very serious and shows the facial expression of ignorance and self obsession. There isn't much text on this front cover because the important articles have been exaggerated with size and colour giving clear knowledge to the consumer of what the magazine contains and consists of.
